Well, we found a place to live...finally. And it's actually pretty great. It's in a pretty decent area with a mix of families and students (much better than the ALL student places we were finding before). During this experience we learned a few things about international house hunting...
1. Some places think it's weird if more than 2 unrelated people (who aren't students) want to live together
2. These places actually make it illegal for you to do just that
2. Some student housing closely resembles a prison
3. When student housing is your only option, the week before classes start is probably not the most ideal time to be looking for a place to live
And so, after learning these lessons, we finally found a better-than-prison place that would actually allow 3 unrelated people to live together, so of course we jumped on it as quick as possible. Tonight is my last night in the hotel, tomorrow night I will be in my new home- a home that may be a bit bare for a while- but a place where I will have my own bed. I'm excited.
Tomorrow is also my first official day at work. I have no idea what to expect. I'm a little bit terrified, but also so glad it is finally here.
Tomorrow is gonna be a big day folks.
